Road to California!

I have two pieces in the upcoming Road to California show at the Ontario Convention Center. One piece is in the contest and the other in a special exhibit from Beyond the Edge Fiber Artists called "Put A Bird On It!". I'm proud to have of my art quilts in this show!

This is the piece in the contest - It is called "Flamingo-Flamango".

Splash!

Here are photos of a little fiber art project I recently completed. I had some machine quilted sections that were cut off of another project that I liked. I decided to cut circles out of this section and stitch beads on them to look like splashing water. The circles were mounted on small canvas squares. I painted the canvas squares black, and then connected them to each other on the backside. This allows me to stand them up together at different angles. I put some buttons on the backside to add some additional interest when you look at this piece from various angles.

SAQA 2017 Trunk Show Entry

  Well I've been super busy these last few weeks because of the holidays, and I haven't had much time to spend on art. I was able to put this 7" x 10" piece in the mail for the SAQA 2017 Trunk Show.  It's painted on fabric and stitched. I used couched yarn around the border of the painted area. The border is a navy blue crushed velvet.

I realize that I took this photo before I stitched the back leg on the table inside the arched door! I didn't take a picture after that, apparently. Oh well, just try to envision that the table has a back leg....

I'm calling it Mission Tower.

Flamingo - Flamango will be in Road to California!

This is an art quilt I recently completed and it was accepted in the Road to California 2017 show! Yippee!!!! I have another art quilt that will be in a Special Exhibit ("Put A Bird On It!") from Beyond the Edge Fiber Artists, but this quilt will be in the contest area.
